Coconut Pineapple Smoothie

Just a few simple ingredients...

One whole freshly cut pineapple, 1/2-1 cup Unsweetened Coconut Milk, & ice if desired.

Oh yeah, super good!

Pineapples have a powerful enzyme bromelain. Bromelain helps with inflammation, swelling, & treating sore muscles. Bodybuilders know how important it is to get bromelain into their bodies to recover. For me it's awesome to juice or eat fresh pineapples when I have sore calves and muscles from ballet. Fresh pineapples also helps build strong bones and helps with indigestion and acid reflux. Can't go wrong when choosing a wholefood like pineapple, just go easy on it and don't eat too much at one time. Good facts here.

Especially, with fresh cut up strawberries!

Coconut Pineapple Stawberry Popsicles

From our smoothie leftovers we put the rest into the Popsicle holders and into the freezer.

 So so so good!

Beets and Greens

Beets and Greens don't make the prettiest color and the greens don't make the tastiest juice, but the amounts of nutrients from greens is so good for our bodies!

Organic spinach, beets stems & leaves, parsley, cilantro, red kale, carrots, ginger, lime, and celery.

My little one had three full small Dixie cups of this. Glad he even likes the bitter juice!

"The Queen of Greens"

I used my sister's nice new Breville Juice Fountain. I thought it was cool to see all the different layers of pulp...carrots, kale, oranges, lemon, and more carrots.

The last time I went to the Zoo (a ways back) was when I first I realized the extremely good health benefits of Kale or "The Queen of Greens." I noticed animal after animal eating it. Since then I eat kale frequently either in juice, salads, or soups. Here are some Top 10 Health Benefits of Eating Kale (click the link to go to the website or it read below)...

Fresh Squeezed OJ

We love getting out our little mini hand juicer and making fresh squeezed orange juice. We also added in fresh squeezed lime juice this time. One of my kids is sick, so as I was juicing we started talking about the importance of eating one special vitamin that is in oranges, as we all probably know...Vitamin C! I love talking about the different vitamins and minerals in fruits and veggies with them and categorizing fruits and/or veggies with the same vitamins. I want them to know why they are eating it, what it will do, and how it keeps their bodies happy, healthy, and strong! Their little minds soak up so much and my kids are remembering more and more about all the good things wholefoods can do for our bodies!

Happiness In A Bottle...

Yes, this coconut water is just that! A good friend and I love this coconut water! When she first gave me a sip I was like, whoa, they have to add some kind of sweetener. If you have ever had coconut water straight from the coconut like in Hawaii or Mexico, it's definitely not sweet, good, but not sweet. However, these coconuts are grown in Thailand and the coconuts over there are naturally sweeter. So, I'm good with that!

I find these little drinks at Sprouts $2 a bottle, sometimes on sale for around a $1.50. You can also find them online at Amazon. They sell the big 16.2 oz can in a pack of 12 for $26.99. You have two choices with or without pulp. I love the pulp, but these bottle come without it. Super refreshing!

Check out my cousins, Angela Huang, article about Coconuts: An amazing superfood. "Coconut water is nature’s perfect isotonic drink. Sterile and having the same electrolytic balance as we have in our blood, it’s been called the “fluid of life” and was even used to give emergency plasma transfusions to wounded soldiers during World War II. Best consumed from fresh young coconuts, coconut water is low in calories (being 95% water), yet high in electrolytes, ascorbic acid, B vitamins, and amino acids. Moreover, it aids in the function of the gall bladder, kidney, liver and thyroid."

Orange Spinach Smoothie

First, juice the oranges...

Then put handful of carrots, a little bit of cabbage, spinach, 1/2 an orange with peel off, banana, and ice. The more ice you add it'll turn into a sorbet.

I had one of these at a Vita-mix demo at Costco, expcet theirs came out nice, lovely, and orange. I prefer more greens...

The beat part for my kids is that we get to freeze the leftovers in Popsicle holders!
